Reputation is a big draw for international students when deciding where to go. Recent studies show Canada's reputation to be among the best in the world, and that the country is well known globally for the following:
  • high quality of life

  • the quality of its education and services

  • its commitment to peacekeeping, human rights and humanitarian aid abroad

  • its tolerance, diversity and multiculturalism at home.

As a result, Canada was ranked third out of 179 countries on the UN's 2008 Human Development Index.
