Program OverviewLakehead University's (Lakehead) 2-year thesis-based Master of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering (MSc ENG) program is primarily for students who hold bachelor's degrees in electrical, computer or software engineering. Current research areas include Communications, Networking, VLSI, RF and Microwave, Power Electronics, Electron Devices, Biomedical Applications, Computers and Software. The program aims to produce graduates who are prepared to take on advanced positions in industry or pursue opportunities in academia. Some students in the Electrical & Computer Engineering program are also given the opportunity to instruct laboratory courses, mark assignments and counsel undergraduate students.

Buildings & ResourcesLocated on over 130 hectares of land in south-west Thunder Bay, Lakehead's Faculty of Engineering provides "smart classrooms", GIS labs, and computer teaching and research labs for students. All students receive individual computer and email accounts. The C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse offers a fully equipped gymnasium, weight and combative rooms, squash courts and an Olympic-size pool. The multi-sport athletics facility, which opened in 2005, houses an indoor running track, multi-purpose indoor field, aerobic/yoga studio, weight room and fitness centre, climbing wall, student lounge and sports medicine clinic.
