NOVA SCOTIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE - WATERFRONT

Mission Statement:

The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is a province-wide institution for vocational training and education. Certificate and diploma programs are offered in applied arts and new media, business, health services, human services, trades and technology at the Waterfront Campus in Dartmouth. NSCC students gain practical lab and workshop experience and complete a work placement. Courses are developed in consultation with government, business and industry, and reflect sector demand and employment trends. NSCC instructors are recruited directly from industry and maintain their connections in the field, thus ensuring that NSCC programs remain practical and relevant. 91 per cent of NSCC graduates are employed; 80 per cent work in their chosen field. NSCC Waterfront Campus has many facilities for applied arts and new media studies, including radio and television studios, and offers several programs in these areas, including Photography, Radio & Television Arts, Music Arts, Music Business, Recording Arts, Screen Arts, Graphic Design, Graphic & Print Production, and Applied Communication Arts. The Waterfront Campus is newly-built campus, with a "green" building that holds an LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation.
