Mission Statement:

The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is a province-wide institution for vocational training and education. Certificate and diploma programs are offered in applied arts and new media, business, health services, human services, trades and technology at the Institute of Technology Campus in Halifax. NSCC students gain practical lab and workshop experience and complete a work placement. Courses are developed in consultation with government, business and industry, and reflect sector demand and employment trends. NSCC instructors are recruited directly from industry and maintain their connections in the field, thus ensuring that NSCC programs remain practical and relevant. 91 per cent of NSCC graduates are employed; 80 per cent work in their chosen field. NSCC's Institute of Technology Campus in Halifax is close to shops, banks and restaurants. The campus has modern computer equipment and offers its full-time students daily access to computer labs. The Applied Arts and New Media programs offered by the Institute of Technology Campus are taught at the Halifax Downtown satellite site.
