Mission Statement:

Nipissing University's background extends back to the early 1900's with the North Bay Normal School and Nipissing University College. The institution finally received its charter as an independent university in 1992. Today, Nipissing is proud to be a respected undergraduate university with a reputation for excellence in teacher education, arts, science, business and nursing. Nipissing University students will become immersed in a challenging academic environment that is student focused and based on innovative approaches to learning and a growing research ethic. Nipissing is committed to playing a positive role in the educational, social, cultural and economic life of North Bay and Northeastern Ontario.
