ALGOMA UNIVERSITY
Mission Statement:
Located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Algoma University College is an affiliate college of Laurentian University in Sudbury offering over 30 degree programs in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and professional areas. Algoma students therefore graduate with a Laurentian U degree, but have the benefit of studying at a smaller, more personal and intimate institution. Professors encourage interaction, discussion, and independent thought in the classroom, and are known for open-door policies that ensure students receive the support, guidance, and mentoring they need, even when class is over. While Algoma is small, its vision is broad: co-op programs and international exchanges in Japan, Australia and Finalnd are available.
