Mission Statement:

Founded in 1965 as a part of Vancouver City College, Langara College was established as an independent public college in 1994. Langara's vision statement -- "Freedom Through Knowledge" -- reflects the college's mission to provide accessible education that meets the needs of BC's (and Canada's) diverse community. Delivered at one main campus and two satellite campuses, Langara's education and services are comprehensive, current, and innovative. The curriculum is based on an integrated and cross-disciplinary approach designed to enhance the learner's ability to apply and transfer knowledge. Langara values and is committed to a learning and working environment characterized by encouragement, free enquiry, integrity, mutual respect, professionalism, recognition of achievement, and social responsibility.
