Mission Statement:

Fifty-five students began the long journey toward personal growth when Memorial first opened its doors on the old Parade grounds in St. John's on September 15th, 1925. Seventy-five years later, Premier Brian Tobin placed a time-capsule into the lovely new University Centre building -- intended as a "mixing and meeting place" for students, instructors and support-staff. We have indeed bloomed and grown into a healthy hall of academic pursuit in our eight decade history. Memorial is now the largest university in Atlantic Canada, and offers more than one hundred degree program options.
