COLLEGE OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC - GANDER

Mission Statement:

In 1997, the College of the North Atlantic was formed through amalgamating 17 district vocational schools which had peppered the Newfoundland & Labrador region since 1963. With the intention of developing highly skilled, enthusiastic and talented employees for an evolving professional landscape, CNA educates and retrains individuals in a spectrum of careers ranging from hairstyling, to aircraft structural repair, to first-year engineering technology -- thus forming a foundation and providing a locus of hope and dignity for a resilient and hard-working region of the country. There have been challenges and triumphs in Gander's history, but through it all, CNA's campus -- built in 1963 -- has expanded and upgraded numerous times, graduating thousands of students who have gone on to become a credit to the province and the nation as a whole. We also partner with the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. The economy in Gander is growning, and many opportunities in the burgeoning aerospace industry promise to add growth to the region.
