About the Secondary School International Program

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) offers seven high schools that accept international students - Bowness, Crescent Heights, Dr. E.P. Scarlett, Ernest Manning, Henry Wise Wood, Lord Beaverbrook and Queen Elizabeth. All CBE schools feature professional English as a Second Language programs. CBE schools have excellent facilities including modern computer, language, and digital labs; libraries that offer extended hours; and many extracurricular activities, ranging from sports teams to art and dance to service clubs.

Secondary School Highlights

  • 7 highs schools with diversified programs including a range of academic classes, Advanced Placement classes, International Baccalaureate Program, university preparation classes, to sports and academic academies

CBE schools have excellent facilities including modern computer, language, and digital labs; libraries that offer extended hours; and many extracurricular activities, ranging from sports teams to art and service clubs.

Middle School Highlights

  • A large number of junior high schools with diversified programs including academic classes, sports and fine arts programs
  • International students are fully integrated into all classes with Canadian students
  • Carefully selected homestay families to provide accommodation to international students between 12 - 15 years
  • Both full year and 1 semester program options are available for international students
