Institute Mission

To foster exploration, to share ideas and information, to teach but also to learn; acquire the technology, cultivate the partnerships and welcome people essential to advancing an environment that ignites learning, and recognizes the power of every student's dream.

Institute Overview

With more than 7,500 students, the University of Lethbridge (U of L) is large enough to provide students with rich opportunities yet small enough to remain dedicated to a personal experience. The U of L meets the educational and personal needs of students through excellent teaching, exposure to research, interaction with professors and instructors, academic advising, counselling, and extracurricular programs. Students can participate in community projects, study-abroad programs, co-op experiences and even help professors directly with their research.

Highlights

  • The U of L offers small classes where students can get to know their professors personally
  • Undergraduate students can enhance their degree and enrich their experience by: becoming involved in supervised original research, working with world-class professors; taking part in paid co-op education opportunities that offer the opportunity to try different careers and meet prospective employers; and creating an independent study program alongside a professor in a subject area the student is interested in studying
