Program Overview

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute's (OLBI) English Intensive program develops communication skills in English from beginner to advanced levels for academic, professional and personal purposes. Students receive 21 hours of classroom time per week where they integrate listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.

    Facilities and Location

    The University of Ottawa is the largest bilingual university in North America. It is located in downtown Ottawa, close to the Rideau Canal.

    Ottawa is Canada's capital and home to the Parliament Buildings and over 100 diplomatic missions. The city is rich with art and culture featuring attractions such as the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the National Arts Centre, the National Gallery of Canada and the National Library.
