Graduate profile: Twins off to Harvard and Princeton

At first glance it would be easy to label fraternal twins Elliott and Gabriel Birman as opposites.

Elliott is outgoing and talkative, while his older brother Gabriel is quiet and reserved. Elliott is brawny, Gabriel is brainy. Elliott led Upper Canada College's student body government in his final year. Gabriel won the math award. Even their Myers Briggs personality test results attest to their differences: Elliott is ENFJ (Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging) and Gabriel is ISTP (Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving). On paper they couldn't be more different.

At It may be halfway around the world, but Singapore is similar to Toronto in a lot of ways. It's clean, multicultural and English-speaking. The biggest difference — at least according to three Upper Canada College graduates who visited recently — is the heat.

10 reasons this year rocked

Our athletes like the sound of the word "victory." A big Blue Army cheer goes out to every one of you. Our recent spring successes include rowing, golf, tennis and cricket but we celebrated an incredible year across the board: 17 championships at the Prep School and 13 at the Upper School in all.
