UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE TRANSFERS
University transfer programs are popular post-secondary options for international students studying in Canada. These programs are offered by community colleges where you can take 1 to 2 years of study and then transfer those credits toward a bachelor's degree at a Canadian university. University transfer is a great choice for international students who want to save some money on university tuition, or who aren't sure they're ready to enter a big university environment right away.

In this section you can read about what university transfer means and how it works. You will learn about how to know which courses to take, whether university transfer programs guarantee university admission or not, reasons why international students choose university transfer programs in Canada, and who to ask if you have questions along the way. You can also read about the difference between formal transfer agreements between institutions and courses that transfer credit back to your home institution as part of a visiting student program. Our university transfer glossary will help you decipher some of the specialized terminology you may encounter in college and university information packages or on their websites.

If you want to learn more about what's offered at community colleges in Canada, have a look at our section all about community colleges and what they offer international students here.
