The province is almost rectangular in shape and is 651,900 square kilometres in area. Saskatchewan’s population stands at about 1 million. The people of Saskatchewan come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, which is why the provincial motto is “From many peoples, strength.” The never-ending stretches of land and vast skies also make the province well known for its beautiful sunsets.
Saskatchewan is the headquarters of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). In this province, you can visit the RCMP museum or learn about the typical life of a prairie farmer. Northern Saskatchewan is dotted with a myriad of crystal clear lakes, and the fishing and swimming are outstanding.
