Integrated French programs for French as a Second Language (FSL) students are designed to bring a variety of French skills together. The name of these programs refers to the fact that they integrate the teaching of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills together, rather than teach these language skills separately. Integrated French programs (which may also be called intensive or immersion programs) can be challenging, but are excellent for students who want to approach language learning as a whole, rather than in distinct stages. In Canada, integrated French programs may be offered at high schools, colleges, universities and private language institutes.
