As a first step, you should check for possible opportunities through the government of your home country, as many federal governments have funding options for students wanting to study abroad, particularly for students with high academic standing.
However, Alberta universities and colleges do offer limited awards to international students interested in taking an undergraduate degree in Alberta and in some cases the institutions have designated a special fund for international student awards. Awards are available for international students entering college (entrance awards) and to those who are who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program (continuing awards/in-course awards). Awards in other categories are also available and in many instances, unless otherwise stated, international students are eligible for the same awards that Alberta and Canadian residents are eligible to apply for.
