ABOUT CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES
Universities and colleges in Canada come in all types! In addition to more than 100 universities, Canada has over 130 community colleges and more than 1,000 career colleges across the country. These schools can be public or private, 4-year or 2-year, single-facility, multi-campus or online institutions, and credentials include 3- and 4-year bachelor's degrees, plus 1- to 2-year certificates, diplomas and associate's degrees. There are also some specialty Christian colleges, and field-specific and culture-specific schools (for example, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Atlantic Baptist University or First Nations University of Canada). However, most Canadian universities and colleges offer general education programs in a range of academic fields such as business administration, health, education, computers, arts, sciences, engineering, architecture, culinary/ hospitality, applied technology and much more. University and college programs can prepare you for a specific job or career, provide a broad education you can apply to many potential careers, or lead you to graduate school. With everything you need for life and work in a global culture, Canada's internationally-ranked universities and colleges will help you achieve your goals.
